Rustlers rodeo does well in Sheridan

Last weekend, the Rustlers of Central Wyoming College had a strong showing at the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association event in Sheridan, as the women and men finished third and fifth, respectively, in the team events.

Central's Josee Vogel took the women's all-around title with 180 points, on the strength of a second-place finish in goat tying (16.8) and seventh in breakaway roping (7.5).

Francine Orahood was ninth in goat tying (19.1).

Gillette College won the team crown with 365 points.

Central's men were led by Thomas Davis, who was runner-up in bareback riding, with a score of 149, as the Rustlers' team total of 325 points trailed winners Sheridan College (580).

In steer wrestling, the Rustlers' Taylor Davidson finished third (12.1).

Central will next compete at Lamar Community College this weekend.
