Elsie Campbell had a pretty good weekend in Wheatland last week.
The Riverton cowgirl won Saturday's goat tying competition at the weekly stop on the Wyoming High School Rodeo Association circuit with a run of 7.360 seconds, collecting 10 valuable points in the process, then followed that up with a fourth (7.600) on Sunday for another eight.
Campbell currently sits third in the season goat-tying standings with 40 points.
But, she wasn't done there, as she finished fourth in breakaway roping with a time of 2.820 and is sixth on the season (23 points), with Riverton's Madison Enos fifth on the day (2.870).
Lanna Jordan of Riverton finished seventh in goat tying at 8.720 and is 12th on the season, with 15 points.
Speaking of Riverton cowgirls, Makayla Seely finished fifth in barrel racing with an effort of 19.159 on Sunday and is ninth in the season standings with 24.50 points.
High school rodeo season will resume in the spring.
