Fresh off an appearance in the championship match of the Riverton McDonald's volleyball tournament last weekend, head coach Trista Day and her Lady Wolverines host Torrington in a single best-of-five match Friday at Wolverine Gym.

Varsity play is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.

Riverton (5-2, 0-0 Class 3-A Northwest) lost to Powell twice in its opening weekend tournament while registering wins over Shoshoni, Jackson, Thermopolis, Kemmerer and Worland.

Torrington (1-5, 0-0 Class 3-A Northeast) struggled in its first weekend at a tournament in Douglas.

The Lady Trailblazers beat Wanblee, South Dakota, but dropped matches to Cody, Wright, Buffalo, Glenrock and Big Horn.

On Tuesday, the Lady Trailblazers bounced back and downed Wheatland, 3-0, in a match played in Torrington.

Riverton will have an open day in its schedule on Saturday and will make its first road trip of the year on Sept. 7-8 to an invitational tournament in Rawlins.
