Steve Dent died August 3, 2017, in Jefferson County, Colorado.

Born July 19, 1962 in Worland, Wyoming he was the younger of two sons of Wade and Margaret Dent. Steve's family moved to Lander, Wyoming when he was three weeks old and he grew up there graduating from high school in 1980.

After high school Steve continued his education at Central Wyoming College (CWC), Chadron State College (CSC), and the University of Colorado (CU Boulder). He majored in mathematics through out his higher education receiving a Masters of Science from CU Boulder, majoring in Applied Mathematicswith a minor in Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences.

After graduate school, Steve worked at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric

Administration (NOAA) in Boulder, Colorado before entering the private sector and eventually working as a software consultant under the company name Outlaw Creek.

While living in Boulder, Steve met his wife Lorna Younger. The couple married in 2003 residing in Breckenridge and Westminster, Colorado.

In addition to Steve's interest in science he studied history, economics, world affairs and literature. Steve was an avid photographer and spent many hours pursuing outdoor activities through out his life: road biking, rock climbing, mountain biking, windsurfing, snowboarding, backpacking the Gore and Wind River Ranges, fishing, big game and upland bird hunting. The last year he pursued skate boarding, the study of metaphysical practices and dancing and listening to live music whenever possible.

Survivors include all who loved him: Lorna, her children Maggie, Andrew and Elliott Golnar, his father Wade, and his extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother Thomas and mother Margaret.

At his request no funeral service will be held; however, there will be a memory of life celebration in the foothills of Colorado at a later date.
